I
was born in Lansing, Michigan and have also lived in Alta, Utah; Minneapolis,
MN; and Royal Oak (suburb of Detroit), MI. My business background is
mainly involved around the insurance industry, specializing in employee
benefits. I held a brief position at the School District of Manatee
County working on the Reading Intervention Grant, part of Just Read, Florida!
I was also the Chair for United Way for four years while employed at Aon
Risk Services in Southfield, MI. I've been on the Board of Trustees at
Gulf Coast Marine Institute, in Palmetto, since March of 2007.
After
my then long distance boyfriend, Brian Thomas, got down on one knee and
proposed, I packed up and moved to Florida in October of 2003! We were
married the following May and had our beautiful son, Jack, in March of 2005.
We reside on Terra Ceia Island and enjoy fishing and boating on our 23'
Sea Craft, Stocks & Blondes, and our 17' Boston Whaler, Jack Hammer.
My
family and I truly enjoy spending our free time at BYC. Jack already
walks around like he owns the place, a future Commodore!
It
is my pleasure to be your Great Mates President. The current board and
myself promise to make this year one you'll want to be part of.
